Marja and I played a game of Scrabble using the travel edition that Stephen got us this past summer. Our final score was 209 to 353.

I somehow sweet-talked the boy into playing Scrabble with me… we pulled out his shnazzy spinning retro table, sat in his kitchen, and proceeded with the most difficult game I’ve played in a long while… easels fiiled with only vowels, or only consonants, finally giving in and trading some letters, and him pulling out the word salsify (scoring 100 points)… declaring victoriously, "My parents are botanists!" He sealed his victory there… salsify remember it folks… it could one day be your demise!
